How to heal a broken heart?

in

I was planning on marrying someone but I think it has ended now, so I was wondering Islamically are there any specific ways to heal a broken heart and move on?

Any other advice is also welcomed.

Answer:
Salam. For the one who truly wants to remove hurt from their heart, and "move on" from the past or present mistakes, or what did not turn out as they wished and hoped, whether that was in their limited control or not, due to their mistake or the mistake of others, or due to the evil or incapacity of others, the solution of all this chaos and confusion is to know, and know with certainty, that in reality, there is no chaos because Allah سبحانه وتعالى is always in control. Thus, to put your trust entirely in Allah سبحانه وتعالى and to turn to Him, and when hearts turn to Him to the exclusion of any of creation, any hurt will be replaced by pure and true love for Him and submission to Him, until you will not even remember the hurt of the past, and in fact, you will perhaps even desire that hurt again since it brought you the true love of Allah سبحانه وتعالى or brought you closer to Him and made you realise that even if the world betrays you, as the person who broke your heart might have, then there is One who never betrays, and that is the One we should love in exclusion to all else, and the One for whom is love without any conditions and Who passes us through situations in life to test our love for Him, or to bring us closer to Him. In another question, I answered with the following words as well, which will help you and others in this situation, or any situation of difficulty & hurt: _________________________________________ Allah سبحانه وتعالى said: مَا أَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيبَةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي أَنفُسِكُمْ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مِّن قَبْلِ أَن نَّبْرَأَهَا ۚ إِنَّ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ 57:22. No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but is inscribed in the Book of Decrees (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz), before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allâh. 57:23. In order that you may not be sad over matters that you fail to get, nor rejoice because of that which has been given to you. And Allâh likes not prideful boasters. ►The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Were you to spend the likes of Uhud in the Way of Allah, Allah would not accept it from you until you believe in the decree and you know that what afflicted you would never have missed you and what missed you would never have afflicted you. Were you to die on a (belief) other than this, you would enter the Fire." (Ruled Sahih by Ibn Hibban, Albani, Takhrij Abu Dawud, & Arna'ut said it's isnad was strong) ►The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "A servant will not experience the sweetness of faith until he knows that what afflicted him would never have missed him and what missed him would never have afflicted him." (Albani, Zilal al-Jannah. Said the isnad was hasan) ►The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "A servant will not believe until he believes in the decree - the good and bad thereof: until he knows that what afflicted him would never have missed him and what missed him would never have afflicted him." (Tirmidhi, Tabarani. Sahih by Albani, al-Sahihah) _________________________________________ These words show there is no Chaos and occurances without Great Wisdom & Reason & in fact, Decree. So if Allah سبحانه وتعالى is always in control, if all these things happened after being decreed, then should we not trust in Him and turn all our problems & what confuses us to Him? It may be Chaos & Confusion to us, but it is all directed, decreed and controlled by Him for a great purpose. The answer then is, submission to Him upon knowledge that He is God, and nothing occurs but by Him, He is the Cause of all causes and effects, and everything will return to Him in the end as it was created by Him in the beginning. The perfection of Tawheed is the solution to everything and the true source of peace & security as Ibrahim عليه السلام said: وكيف أخاف ما أشركتم ولا تخافون أنكم أشركتم بالله ما لم ينزل به عليكم سلطانا فأي الفريقين أحق بالأمن إن كنتم تعلمون 6:81. And how should I fear those whom you associate in worship with Allâh (though they can neither benefit nor harm), while you fear not that you have joined in worship with Allâh things for which He has not sent down to you any authority. (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know." Those upon Tawheed (and the above understanding of Decree is from Tawheed, a very important part of tawheed as the words of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم above shows) have peace, contentment, security due to worshiping Allah سبحانه وتعالى alone and trusting in Him.

Answer:
Asif has answered in detail, Mike: Sura e Touba was revealed during war time when Muslims were under attack and when Allah Asks for killing non belivers it's abvious its about the non believers attacking or fighting with Muslims. The same Surah Taubah's chapter 9 verse 6 gives the answer to the allegation that Islam promotes violence, brutality and bloodshed. It says: “If one amongst the pagans (Since the sura was revealed during a war with pegans) ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure that is because they are men without knowledge.” [Al-Qur’an 9:6] The Qur’an not only says that a Mushriq (Non believer) seeking asylum even during the battle should be granted refuge, but also that he should be escorted to a secure place. In the present international scenario, even a kind, peace-loving army General, during a battle, may let the enemy soldiers go free, if they want peace. But which army General will ever tell his soldiers, that if the enemy soldiers want peace during a battle, don’t just let them go free, but also escort them to a place of security? An Ex-Christian
