How to easily find out NFL team playoff berths?

I run a fantasy football league and also enjoy manually keeping track of the NFL standings as a hobby. Is there an easy way to figure out which teams have clinched a playoff berth, which teams are still in the running, and which teams have zero chance of making the playoffs? Like a formula or something?

I can't find anything on my search engine and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Answer:
It is not possible to do completely right with a formula, but you can get close by simply estimating how many wins a team is down to get to the easiest achieved playoff spot, division or wildcard. But this is wrong in a way since certain matchup my make the scenario wrong. Here is an example why a simple formula can't be used, and a formula would have to include the games played and games left. Lets consider the AFC South in with one game left to play in a random standing AFC South - week 16 standings Record and (division record) 1 Jacksonville Jaguars 8-7 (3-2) 2 Tennessee Titans 8-7 (3-2) 3 Indianapolis Colts 7-6 (4-1) 4 Houston Texans 3-12 (0-5) With two games remaining it might look like the Colts will be able to take the division, however as all week 17 games are division games you can see that all the teams have a division game left, here it may look like the Colts could make the playoff i they win and the Jaguars and Titans lose, however this is only possible if they don't play each other, if the Jaguars played the Titans one of them would have to win, or tie both, in which case the Colts are already eliminated, if the Cols play either of those teams then they are in if they win and the Texans wins. This illustrates why a formula would have to be with respect to the schedule, and why it is easier working it out team by team instead of applying a formula

How to train for High School Football tryouts?

I am planning to tryout for 10th grade football team, and I was hoping to gain some tips and advice on how to prepare and what to expect. I am sure different high schools may have different tryouts, but can anyone give me any idea what to expect, and how to train?
PS- Football tryouts start near end of the school year.

Answer:
Tryouts will normally start with conditioning the first day then individual training (more specific/position training) they will time 40's for speed and test strength and hit power and wrap up ability. Then it's all about how good you did. Good luck hope you make it.

How to keep yourself conditioned in the offseason?

My football season has ended and ive already started to lose everything and get flabby. Any tips on how to stay fit?

Answer:
My best advice for you this upcoming (and every) offseason is to eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of becoming a successful, top notch football player.

How to make a college football team with no experience?

I really want to tryout for the MSU football team, i am currently lifting everyday working out both upper body and lower body. I am 5' 7 and weigh 175 and i am not fat. I also train everyday on catching, running, DL, OL, basically for any position, and i wrestle. There's just one HUGE problem...I've never played on a school team. What should i start focusing on so that I may have a better chance at making the team?

Answer:
I highly encourage you to try out, and become a walk-on, for the MSU football program next season. It will still not (yet) be too late for you to start playing football. Based on your height and weight, I believe that the best fit for you is at tight end. You have the ideal size for a tight end in college football. My best advice for you is to work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do during the next 11 months is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of making it as a walk-on tight end for the MSU football team next season.

How to get ready for high school football?

I want to play football next year. I have never played in a team. I was going to play pop warner but the coaches were dumb so i got out. I want to be a wide reciever or a running back. Im a freshman so ill be a souphmore next year. Im 5"8 and a half and 125 pounds. Can you tell me some tips so i can be a beast next year. I have until the summer to get ready.

Answer:
Get with the strength and conditioning coach and see what he recommends that you do during the next few months to get prepared.. He will probably be glad to help you develop a routine you can involve yourself in and get yourself prepared... The coaches probably have an off season program already in place that you can follow so make sure you get involved in that.. Good luck....

How to read and understand a Football playbook?

I am playing my first year of football. I will be a wide receiver. I play for my middle school and I never played on a team before. My coche gave us a playbook but I don't know how I can read it. I have never worked with a playbook before. I kind of understand the positions. So basically I need to know everything about playing football.

Answer:
Get with one of your team mates and go over the playbook.. Ask the coach if he has any suggestions.. If you can follow directions you shouldn't have a problem with it.. Good luck...
